Caring for the environment
Companies and the community in which they operate are developing interdependence, which has recently become increasingly evident. Not only does the community depend on the company for employment and thus the quality of life of workers, but the company also depends on the community as a consumer of its products and services, but also as a source of labor. Caring for the environment in this relationship also plays an important role and must be reciprocal in order for both the community and the company to maximize their profits.
It is our collective and individual responsibility to preserve and tend to the environment in which we all live.
Climate change problems
If we look at this topic from a company perspective, two things become apparent. The first is the impact of the environment on the company’s business, and the second is the impact of the company’s environmental policy on the community environment. In this way, companies lose potential workers, but also expose themselves to sanctions that bring great costs to their business. Furthermore, climate change brings problems such as floods or increased costs for air conditioning of business premises, so companies aim to preserve the environment as much as possible.
Companies that produce a lot of waste or exhaust gases pollute the entire environment around them reduce the quality of life. As a result, there is an emigration of the population and little interest in re-immigration.
Companies, if they implement the right environmental policy, can serve as an example to the whole community. This includes the micro level, such as separating waste in your own home, but also the macro level such as inspiring and encouraging other companies in the area to pursue the same business policy. What is gratifying is that more and more companies are becoming aware of their local impact and role in the global environmental network, but it is important to note that they still have a lot of work to do to achieve a sustainable and healthy environment.
